+ What is Pilates?
Pilates is a comprehensive physical fitness system developed by German anatomist Joseph Pilates in the early 20th Century. Through a series of precise, controlled movements, it engages all muscle groups while simultaneously improving posture, functional movement patterns, and flexibility.
Beyond physical benefits, Pilates is recognized as one of the most effective mindful training practices available. The intentional focus on breathing—a core principle of the Pilates method—promotes stress reduction and anxiety relief, creating a mind-body connection that enhances overall wellbeing.
+ What should I know before doing a class?
Pilates is suitable for anyone over the age of 16. We request that first-time visitors arrive 10-15 minutes early so our instructor can provide a brief orientation to the reformer machine and discuss any personal health considerations.
While all our classes accommodate mixed fitness levels, we strongly recommend booking one private session before joining group classes. This ensures you'll understand proper form and get the most benefit from your practice.
+ Do you have showers?
Our studio features two changing rooms and one toilet facility. We do not provide shower amenities.
+ Do you have lockers?
Yes, we offer seven secure lockers in the studio where you can safely store your personal belongings during class. Each locker is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
+ How do I book?
Please visit our schedule page to login or register for an account. Once registered, you can purchase class credits and book sessions that fit your schedule. For current pricing options and packages, please see our buy page.
+ How does your waitlist work?
When a class reaches capacity, you can add yourself to the waitlist with one click. If a space becomes available, you'll automatically receive an email notification.
Simply log in to your account and book the newly available spot. We recommend responding promptly as waitlist openings are filled in order of response.
+ What do I wear?
We recommend wearing grippy socks on the reformers to help with foot positioning and stability during exercises. While not mandatory, socks are required during all classes for hygiene purposes.
For clothing, choose clean, stretchy fabrics that allow unrestricted movement. Please avoid garments with exposed zippers, buttons, or other hardware elements as these can damage the equipment and interrupt your practice.
+ How long are the classes?
All classes are 50 minutes in duration. Our instructors carefully pace each session to include a proper warm-up, full-body workout, and essential cool-down stretches.
We respectfully ask that you commit to the entire class period for optimal results and minimal disruption.
+ Do you provide water?
We offer complimentary filtered water on tap for all clients. Bottled water is also available for purchase at our reception desk if preferred.
